CF-SN · Corefra CF-SN silicon nitride crucible-coating powder

Hebei Corefra Silicon Nitride Material ↗

Corefra's CF-SN is a silicon nitride powder for the release coating on quartz crucibles in multicrystalline ingot casting. It ships against a published chemistry and particle-size table; coating and furnace settings are worked out in your own trial.

Based on Corefra's Chinese CF-SN product page and its specification table. The page gives no slurry formula, coating thickness, phase-content limit or furnace cycle.

General illustration of wafer processing equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Order CF-SN against its current specification with lot certificates, then qualify dispersion, coating and casting on your own crucible and furnace before production. Ask Corefra to confirm in writing the size distribution, coating guidance and producing site.

Where CF-SN sits in multicrystalline casting

Corefra sells CF-SN as a release-agent powder. It is sprayed onto the inside of high-purity quartz crucibles before multicrystalline silicon ingots are cast. Corefra says the powder starts from high-purity silicon feedstock and goes through multistage particle-size matching and purification.

Buying CF-SN means buying the coating raw material. The crucible, slurry, spray process and furnace route belong to your engineering team, and Corefra's application guidance bridges the step from powder to coated crucible. The product is separate from Corefra's ceramic bearings, from finished crucibles and from PECVD coating gases. For crystal-growth methods other than multicrystalline casting, ask Corefra about suitability first.

What the D50 figure leaves out

  • Median versus full distribution

A D50 of 2 µm says nothing about D10, D90, oversize particles or agglomerates. A coating line needs the full distribution, the dispersion conditions used for the measurement and a lot tolerance.

  • Phase and surface data

Alpha/beta phase content, specific surface area and particle shape are absent from the table. Values published for other silicon nitride powders will not carry over, so ask Corefra for CF-SN data matched to your coating process.

  • Trace contamination

Oxygen, carbon and the five metals are controlled at the powder stage. Whether the finished ingot meets your contamination limits is settled by the casting trial and the lot certificates behind it.

Qualifying CF-SN on your crucibles

  1. Describe the application

Send Corefra the crucible material and size and your ingot and furnace route. Ask it to confirm CF-SN suits that route and to supply the controlled grade specification.

  2. Get dispersion instructions

Ask which liquids and binders Corefra permits, how to mix and disperse the powder, and how to handle it safely. The solids content belongs in these instructions.

  3. Set coating and drying acceptance

Trial the coating equipment and crucibles you will use in production. Record coverage, thickness, adhesion, drying and handling conditions agreed with your engineers.

  4. Run a controlled cast

Keep the powder lot, slurry and coating records together. Judge release behaviour, ingot integrity and contamination against limits set before the cast; furnace schedule and yield targets are your own.

  5. Lock the approved package

Tie the lot certificate, specification revision, coating procedure and trial results together. Any change to powder, crucible, dispersion ingredients or furnace process goes through review before release.

CF-SN buyer questions

Is 2 µm the largest particle allowed?

The table labels 2 µm as D50, the median. Ask Corefra for the full distribution and an oversize limit.

Will the table alone give me a high-purity ingot?

The table sets powder limits. Ingot purity also depends on slurry preparation, the crucible and the casting process, so qualify all three against your ingot acceptance.

What slurry concentration should I use?

The product page gives no concentration. Get Corefra's instructions and trial them on your real coating line.

Do the five metals share one 5 ppm limit?

Each of Fe, Al, Ca, Mn and Cu has its own row at ≤5 ppm, so each is limited separately.

Can CF-SN be used for monocrystalline pulling?

Corefra names multicrystalline ingot casting as the application. For any other crystal-growth process, ask Corefra to confirm suitability in writing.
