Wafer slicing factory automation system

Hangzhou Zhongwei Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. ↗

Fast Eyes builds this automation across a wafer plant, from ingot preparation through slicing, cleaning, sorting and packing, with MES coordinating each move. For your plant, the real question is how material and its ID pass every station.

Integration project. The picture shows one installation; configuration and capacity are set for each factory.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Map the full material route, empty carriers and stopped stations included, before you count robots or ask for a turnkey price. Then ask Fast Eyes to confirm in writing the station scope, buffer sizes and recovery behaviour behind its quote.

How material moves through the line

  1. Ingot preparation and bonding

The line starts by preparing and bonding the ingot. Note its incoming condition, the carriers it travels in and the handover into bonding and slicing.

  2. Slicing, degumming and cleaning

Automated loading and unloading serve the slicers, followed by cleaning. Name the supplier of the process machines separately from whoever supplies the logistics interfaces. The diamond wire those slicers consume is a separate supply stream, and its spool changes add another material route to plan.

  3. Sorting and packing

The line runs on into sorting, boxing and palletizing. Each product batch has to keep its identity through every packing handover.

  4. Dispatch by MES

MES passes material information and schedules production. Decide who owns the data and which messages run in your plant.

Fitting automation into a plant that is already running

A working plant needs a cutover plan as well as the future layout. List the temporary routes and the stations that must keep producing while interfaces change. The case shows how far the integration can reach. Ask Fast Eyes how it would sequence a conversion in your factory and how long each station would stand idle.

A sound capacity model names the station that limits accepted output and the load on each transport route. Extra robots will not cure an undersized buffer, a missing unloading slot or a failed ID handshake. Request the assumptions behind the layout proposal.

What to send Fast Eyes

  • Flow diagram

Give station names, equipment owners, material states and every loaded and empty transfer.

  • Output and buffers

State output targets by station, shift pattern, batch sizes and the accumulation needed when downstream stations stop.

  • Systems ownership

Name who supplies the MES, machine interfaces, network and material ID hardware.

  • Recovery trial

Ask to see a stopped slicer, a blocked route and a wrongly identified carrier handled, with safe manual recovery instructions.
