Yitong Tech ↗Copper-core flat ribbon with a Sn60Pb40 coating for cell stringing. Choose the width and thickness for your pads, then set the soldering process on your own line.

Size, coating and alloy choices
Width and thickness for your pads
The webpage offers 0.15–0.25 mm thickness and 0.4–2.0 mm width. Pick one cross-section against cell pad width, pitch, contact overlap and stringer guides, and ask Yitong to confirm that exact combination is made.
Coating thickness on the drawing
The sheet lists a 20±5 µm coating per side and a ±0.01 mm thickness tolerance. Ask whether the drawing thickness refers to the bare copper or the coated ribbon, and how the coating is measured.
A leaded alloy
Sn60Pb40 contains lead. If your market restricts lead, ask Yitong for composition data and conformity documents, or for a separate lead-free grade with its own sheet. For heat-sensitive cells, Yitong sells a separate low-temperature round ribbon with its own data sheet.

From data sheet to accepted ribbon
Fix the material package
List width, thickness, coating composition and thickness, spool drawing and lot on the order. Ask Yitong for its current data sheet, a composition record and the basis of its dimensional inspection.
Define the peel test
The ≥1.0 N solderability figure comes without a specimen width, peel angle, speed or substrate. Agree those conditions first, and keep the figure in newtons rather than turning it into N/mm.
String your own cells
Record flux, thermal profile, ribbon tension, guide alignment and cell lot. Check joints, electrical results and any cell damage against limits your team sets, because yield and process temperature come from this run. Control later lots
Keep accepted trial samples with their material records. Ask Yitong to notify you before it changes copper condition, alloy, coating, reel winding or process.

Flat ribbon questions to put to Yitong
Is the flat ribbon lead-free?
No. The listed coating is Sn60Pb40. If you need lead-free, ask for a separate grade backed by its own data sheet.
Is 189°C my soldering temperature?
It is the alloy fusion point on the sheet. The right setting depends on heat transfer, flux and cell limits, so find it in a process trial.
Will ≥1.0 N meet my peel specification?
Only once test geometry, method and pass criteria are agreed. The sheet states a force and gives no per-width value.
Can I order any size inside the range?
The range describes catalogue coverage. Ask Yitong to quote the exact dimensions, coating and reel you need and to confirm in writing that the combination is in production.
