Suzhou Maxwell Technologies Co., Ltd.

苏州迈为科技股份有限公司

Maxwell builds screen-printing metallization lines and HJT equipment for solar-cell plants, and its line covers far more than the printer: loading, drying, firing, testing and sorting.

What the company makes

Suzhou Maxwell Technologies runs photovoltaic, display and semiconductor equipment as three separate businesses. On the solar side it offers HJT whole-line equipment, a perovskite/SHJ tandem-cell solution, metallization equipment and laser equipment. An HJT line is built mainly around thin-film deposition tools for the amorphous silicon and transparent conductive layers, so it is quoted on different machines from a printing line.

The line featured here prints and fires contacts on solar cells, so it belongs in a cell factory, not a module assembly hall. Open the conversation with your cell architecture, the number of print passes and the drying and firing process you run. Maxwell's OLED and semiconductor-packaging products go through different sales teams and play no part in a printing-line quote.

Maxwell's dual-head, dual-track metallization line loads solar cells, screen prints the grid, then dries and inspects them. Vision positioning aligns the pattern. The product page lists ±6 µm printing accuracy and cell breakage under 0.2% for the generation it describes; ask Maxwell… [2]

Maxwell metallization line: from loader to EL tester

  1. Stations Maxwell names on the line

Maxwell's metallization page lists an automatic loader and screen printer, followed by an infrared dryer, buffer flipper, cooler, sintering furnace, solar simulator, tester, sorter and EL tester. Its drawings also show an integrated station after the sintering furnace. Use that list to split supply responsibility line by line. When adding to a running cell line, mark which dryers, furnaces and testers you keep and where Maxwell's equipment hands over to them. Building from scratch? Then have Maxwell itemize the process layout and send a utility schedule. [2]

  2. Single-track or dual-track printing

Maxwell offers single-head single-track and dual-head dual-track configurations. The dual version shares some frame and electrical parts between its two tracks. It is a different architecture, so plant output does not simply double. What decides real output is how loading, buffers, printing and the downstream stations stay in balance on your own recipe. The page also quotes print accuracy and breakage figures. To set them against another line, ask Maxwell for the cell, screen, paste and measuring conditions behind them. [2]

  3. Alignment, screen setup and wafer transport

Maxwell's technical notes cover image-based coordinate calibration, multi-motor synchronous control, alignment of a second print to the first, screen-angle adjustment and constant-pressure printing. Wafers travel on a roll-paper carrier. Together these make a good agenda for the technical meeting: how the second print registers, how a screen is swapped and calibrated, and how the paper carrier treats a freshly printed wafer. Camera layouts and process options can change between machine generations, so the trial documents should name the recipe, consumables and calibration steps for the exact model quoted. [2]

Where Maxwell builds, trials and sells solar equipment

Three published sites with different roles

Maxwell's contact page lists a headquarters and product and R&D centre on Dajing Road in Wujiang, an intelligent manufacturing industrial park on Ludang Road, and a semiconductor equipment industrial park in Zhuhai. Solar, display and semiconductor equipment each have their own sales channel. For your order, ask which site builds the line, where the trial runs, where it ships from and who leads commissioning on your floor. [3]

What the 2025 annual report adds

Maxwell's 2025 annual report, published on CNINFO, books solar-cell complete production equipment, individual machines and parts as separate business lines in its financial notes. That split mirrors the choice a buyer makes between a complete-line order and a single-machine order. The report describes the company as a whole. The configuration, delivery and performance of a particular metallization line belong in the quotation. [4]

Match the offering to your project

Maxwell suits a cell plant with a defined metallization route, a print process that depends on tight alignment, or an HJT equipment project. A printing line set up for one cell architecture will need changes before it runs another. Settle who owns printing, curing or firing, testing and handover before you compare whole-line prices.

Confirm before ordering

  • The current model of the line, its exact station list and the process window for your configuration.
  • Grid print accuracy, breakage and yield from a documented trial on your own cells, screens and paste.
  • The site that builds your line, its calibration records and the scope of its current certificates.

Facts come from Maxwell's website and its 2025 annual report; the source list shows when each was checked.

Buyer questions

Is Maxwell's metallization line meant for module assembly?

No. It prints and fires contacts on solar cells, so it sits in cell manufacturing. Maxwell's whole-line offers and its other businesses are quoted with their own scope. [2]

Does a quote include every dryer, furnace and tester shown on the page?

Ask for an itemized station list. The page shows the full equipment chain; the quotation should state which stations Maxwell supplies and how they connect to the equipment you keep. [2]

How should a print trial separate alignment from cell damage?

Measure them apart. Check pattern registration on the printed cells, and count damaged cells at each station that rejects them. Run your intended cell and paste recipe and agree accepted throughput over a stated run length. A single combined figure would hide where the losses come from.
