HORAD robotic frame-corner cleaning station

Suzhou HORAD New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. ↗

This station removes squeezed-out glue from the corner joints after framing. A conveyor centres the module, then a pair of six-axis robots pick foam pads from a silo, wipe the four joints on each side and drop the used pads into a recycling bin.

HORAD's page gives the robot layout, the foam reuse idea, the four-hour change interval, panel sizes, utilities, footprint and weight. Wiping force, cycle time, a cleanliness target and the foam grades it was tried with are missing, so add them to your enquiry.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Suited to lines that clean corner glue by hand and already receive cells packed in foam. Before ordering, check which foam you actually get, how fresh the sealant is at wiping and what a clean joint looks like, then trial wiping, pad changes and bin handling one by one.

Robots, foam pads and a recycling bin

Each module is centred and squared on the conveyor. Two six-axis robots then take wiping foam from a silo and clear residual adhesive at the four frame joints, working both A and B sides. Spent pads go straight into a recycling bin. The squeeze-out it clears comes from the framing system and the frame-corner pressing station upstream, both also built by HORAD.

HORAD's idea is to turn the foam that cells arrive in from upstream into the wiping pad. It says the material is changed every four hours and that each machine carries two sets of fixture boxes, so one can be refilled while the other runs. Foam differs from one cell supplier to the next, so the pads you would really use need their own trial.

Turning packing foam into an approved pad

  • Which foam, in what state

Name the packing foam, its grade and cut size, and the condition it must arrive in. Set a screen for dust, contamination and tears before it goes into the silo.

  • Glue age at wiping

Tell HORAD which sealant you use, how much squeeze-out you see and how much time passes before wiping. Ask how far into curing the method still lifts residue cleanly.

  • What clean means

Write down the glue residue, smears, particles, surface change and frame or glass marks you will tolerate, and how inspectors reach the corners and sides.

  • Pad changes and waste

Agree what triggers a pad change, how the bin is emptied and how dirty pads are kept away from clean ones. Take four hours as HORAD's starting interval and set your own from trial results.

Running the cleaning trial

  1. Fix the pads and samples

Settle the foam screen, sealant state and a set of representative glued corners.

  2. Watch the robots wipe

Record the tool path and contact settings, then check each joint for cleanliness and the frame, glass and module for marks.

  3. Find the real change point

Wipe with agreed pad loads, inspect how pads wear and set change and first-piece checks from what you measure.

  4. Empty, reload and restart

Swap both fixture-box sets, run out of foam, load the wrong foam and fill the bin. Agree safe robot access and the check after restart.

Robot wiping questions

Will any cell-packing foam work?

HORAD lists no approved foam. Test the grade you receive on your own frame finish.

Is four hours a fixed pad life?

HORAD gives no wipe count or dirt load behind it. Set your change rule from trial results.

Does wiping check the bond?

The robots remove surface glue only. Bond strength and sealing are tested elsewhere in your process.
