NVG-7500 · Silicon ingot face grinding and rounding centre

TDG NISSIN ↗

Once a wire saw has squared an ingot, the NVG-7500 finishes it. TDG NISSIN describes a vertical centre that grinds the faces and rounds or chamfers the edges of mono ingots and poly blocks, with rotary stations so loading and grinding overlap.

Figures come from the NVG-7500 catalogue table. The photo carries the label NVG-7500A, and the text and table give different length figures, so ask which revision you are being quoted.

General illustration of wafer processing equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Choose the NVG-7500 when you want face and edge finishing in one machine. Send your incoming size and the final face and chamfer drawing, then have the maker put the model revision, length limit, wheel package and accepted trial finish into the written offer.

How the NVG-7500 finishes an ingot

The machine combines face grinding with rounding or chamfering. Workpieces move between rotary stations and are ground in a reciprocating pass. TDG NISSIN says station changes involve no waiting and that fast unloading starts from the third workpiece. No cycle time or station timing is listed, so ask for both.

Two figures need a straight answer before you plan around them. The text gives a maximum workpiece length of 900 mm, while the table gives a machining height of 80–800 mm. The table names the model NVG-7500, while the photo shows NVG-7500A. They may refer to different axes or revisions. Ask TDG NISSIN for a drawing that settles both, and plan on the smaller figure until it arrives.

What to send with your enquiry

  • Workpiece drawings

Incoming ingot or block size, the finished face, rounding or chamfer drawing, the stock you allow to remove and the fixture reference faces. Mono bars often arrive from a squarer such as the maker's two-station squarer.

  • Surface targets

Flatness, roughness, chip and crack limits and any subsurface damage requirement, each with the measuring method you will use.

  • Wheels and coolant

Ask for the rough and finish wheel material, bond, dressing and replacement plan, plus the coolant and filtration setup. A grit number on its own says little about the finish you will get.

  • Model and stations

Ask whether NVG-7500 or NVG-7500A is quoted and which length figure applies. Request station, loading and maintenance drawings.

Running the grinding trial

  1. Freeze the setup

Agree model, stock range, fixtures, wheels and final geometry in writing.

  2. Check finished parts

Measure dimensions, surface and damage at set positions after the full rough and finish sequence.

  3. Time the whole cycle

Include clamping, station change, unloading and cleaning, and run both the smallest and the largest stock you plan to grind.

  4. See it serviced

Watch a wheel dressing and change, coolant upkeep and how a part stopped mid-cycle is handled. Record accepted output over a sustained run.

NVG-7500 buyer questions

Can the NVG-7500 grind a 900 mm long ingot?

The text says 900 mm, yet the table lists 80–800 mm machining height. Ask for a drawing that shows which axis each figure covers.

Is the machine in the photo an NVG-7500A?

The photo is labelled NVG-7500A and the table says NVG-7500. Ask TDG NISSIN which revision your quotation covers.

What roughness does the 800# finish wheel give?

The catalogue lists no measured finish. Ask for a sample result on your own stock with the full wheel and coolant recipe.
