EQUIPMENT MODEL

NWSS-360 · Large-batch polycrystal end cropper

TDG NISSIN ↗

A head-and-tail cropper built for big batches of polycrystalline silicon blocks, loading either 36 blocks at 400 mm or 48 blocks at 300 mm.

The data sheet gives full figures for the 36-block load at 156 × 156 × 400 mm. The 48-block option appears in the page text only, without a table of its own.

General illustration of wafer processing equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Choose the NWSS-360 if your line crops 36 or more blocks per cycle. Decide which load you will run, approve the end geometry, fixture and utility drawings for it, then check every position in a trial that counts loss and handling time.

01 · Manufacturer information

Two loads, one data sheet

The NWSS-360 cuts the head and tail off polycrystalline blocks with diamond multiwire. TDG NISSIN gives two load options in the page text: 36 blocks 400 mm long, or 48 blocks 300 mm long.

The data sheet is written for the 36-block load only, at 156 × 156 × 400 mm. It has no separate drawing, power figure or fixture table for 48 blocks. Shorter blocks change the cutting planes, the loading and the finished length, so quote the 48-block load as a configuration in its own right.

Against the 25-block NWSS-250 family, the NWSS-360 needs more water, 320 L/min against 200 L/min, and more power at 40 kW. The sheet gives no finished-length tolerance and no rate for accepted blocks per hour.

Points to settle in the NWSS-360 quotation

  • 36 or 48 blocks

Request the fixture and the stock and cut drawing for the load you will actually run. A shared top quantity tells you little about either one. If you crop one end per cycle instead, compare the maker's twelve-block single-end cropper.

  • End removal

Give your head and tail allowances, the length you keep, and face geometry with chip, crack and surface limits.

  • Batch handling

Agree how blocks are prepared and clamped, where the cut ends go and how good and rejected blocks are separated. Mark which tasks fall to the operator and where feeding and unloading connect.

  • Site demand

Approve the cooling circuit at 320 L/min and 0.2–0.3 MPa, plus filtration, air, power and room to service the wire.

Trial the load you choose

  1. Lock the load

Fix fixtures, wire, incoming and finished drawings and the utility package.

  2. Inspect both ends everywhere

Check length, geometry and damage at each of the 36 or 48 positions.

  3. Count the full batch

Time stock preparation, cutting, waste removal and unloading, and log rejects and lost silicon.

  4. Break it on purpose

Run a broken-wire and a clamp fault, then show how half-cut pieces are identified and how the machine is reached safely for repair.

Large-batch cropping questions

Has TDG NISSIN published full figures for the 48-block load?

The page text names it, but the data sheet covers 36 blocks. Ask for a separate sheet for 48 blocks.

Will 48 blocks give more output per hour?

No cycle time or accepted-output figure is published for either load. Ask for a timed trial on your stock.

Can I plan cooling from the NWSS-250 figure?

No. The NWSS-360 lists 320 L/min, so size the cooling circuit for that and have TDG NISSIN confirm the site package.
