NWSS-6S · Six-block double-end polycrystal cropper

TDG NISSIN ↗

The NWSS-6S crops six polycrystalline silicon blocks per batch. Diamond multiwire removes the head and tail, and twin rotating tables let operators load fresh stock while the wire is cutting. Its 220–400 mm incoming range and 160–330 mm finished range are shorter than the seven-block NWSS-7S.

This page covers the six-block machine as TDG NISSIN catalogues it. The Chinese text says double-end cropping and the English sheet heading says single end face, so settle the cutting scope and current build when you request a quote.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Pick the NWSS-6S when your blocks sit inside its 220–400 mm intake and your target length falls within 160–330 mm. Before ordering, ask TDG NISSIN to confirm in writing both cutting planes, the current build and the finished-length drawing, then run a trial batch that includes table rotation, unloading and waste removal.

What the NWSS-6S cuts and how long the blocks end up

TDG NISSIN describes the NWSS-6S as a head-and-tail cropper for six polycrystalline blocks up to 400 mm long. While one table holds the batch under the wire, the second table turns out to the operator so the next six blocks can be set up. The parameter sheet lists 156 × 156 × (220–400) mm blocks going in and 160–330 mm blocks coming out.

Those lengths set this model apart from the NWSS-7S, which has its own table. The sheet heading in English reads single end face, while the Chinese heading and description say both ends. Ask TDG NISSIN which planes the wire cuts on your order and to send the finished-length drawing that goes with it.

Is the six-block format right for your stock?

  • Block length first

Match your incoming lengths and target lengths to the NWSS-6S table before comparing batch size. The seven-block machine's longer finished range belongs to that model only. If you crop one end per cycle on a larger batch, the maker's twelve-block single-end cropper is the alternative.

  • Loading rhythm

Plan trays, unloading and offcut bins around six positions and the two-table swap. Time complete cycles on a trial to see where the line actually waits.

  • End faces and material loss

Set measurable limits for end-face quality, edge damage and silicon lost per block. Wire diameter alone tells you little about real kerf loss.

Running a six-position acceptance batch

  1. Agree the cutting scope

Sign off the two end positions, block drawing, fixtures and a corrected description in both languages.

  2. Cut the size extremes

Load short and long blocks from your agreed range and measure finished length and geometry at every one of the six positions.

  3. Time loading and offcut removal

Log the table swap, block setup and disposal of cut ends along with cutting time, counting any blocks that fail.

  4. Prove steady running

Check repeatability and damage across the agreed batches, then have the supplier show a wire break, restart and routine maintenance on your cooling and air supply.

NWSS-6S questions buyers ask

Can I plan on the NWSS-7S finished length with this machine?

No. The NWSS-6S lists 160–330 mm finished length, and the seven-block model has a separate table.

Do the two rotating tables remove all waiting time?

TDG NISSIN describes loading one table while the other cuts but publishes no full-cycle time. Measure a complete batch on trial, including handling and any rejected blocks.

Does it crop one end or both?

The Chinese description says both ends; the English heading says one. Have TDG NISSIN state the cutting planes in the quotation.
