HORAD module edge-tape removal station

Suzhou HORAD New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. ↗

HORAD's tape-removal station peels edge tape off finished modules using four servo heads at once. A camera at discharge takes pictures to check the tape is gone, and the peeled tape falls into a collection box. HORAD says normal running needs no operator.

HORAD publishes no list of tapes, no peel force, no limit on leftover adhesive, no cycle time and no camera hit rate. Seeing that tape is gone and checking for adhesive film or glass chips are two separate inspections. The tape itself goes on earlier at HORAD's auto edge taping station, so trial both machines on the same roll.

General illustration of module assembly equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Trial the station with your own tape after it has gone through your laminator. Set one rule for tape removed and another for a clean surface, and include jams and restarts in the trial.

Peel with four heads, then photograph

Four servo-controlled heads grip and pull the edge tape while servo correction keeps the panel square. Changing to another module model is built in. On the way out a camera photographs the edges to check whether the tape was torn off. A waste-tape box and a lifting platform are part of the machine.

HORAD says the station runs without operators in normal use. Somebody still empties the waste box and clears faults, so ask what those jobs involve. The camera looks for tape; clear adhesive residue, fine scratches and a half-peeled corner may need their own check. Settle what the camera judges, and when it rejects a module, with real samples in hand.

Separate pass rules for a stripped module

  • Is the tape off?

Say how much tape may stay, including hidden bits and corners. Prepare modules that are fully stripped, partly stripped and not stripped, and see if the camera tells them apart.

  • Is the surface clean?

Set limits for adhesive residue, edge chips, film damage and module damage. Decide whether a second inspection should catch what the outfeed camera misses. Clean edges matter next at framing, where leftover tape can get in the way of the frame and its sealant.

  • Is the waste handled?

Ask how much the box holds, how it is reached and what the machine does when it jams or fills. Automatic peeling still leaves an operator to carry the waste away.

Trial with tape that has been through lamination

  1. Describe the incoming tape

Record the tape grade, the edge shape, and the heat and time it saw upstream. Bring the strongest and weakest adhesion you expect.

  2. Watch each head peel

Check all four heads, the corners and the hand-over points for tape left behind, adhesive and damage. Note the settings and every failed peel.

  3. Test the camera

Feed known bad modules and agree what it must catch and reject. Score the camera apart from the peeling itself.

  4. Force a stop

Try a partial peel, a jam, a full waste box and a restart. Agree how an operator steps in safely and what the first module after restart must pass.

Tape-removal questions

Will the camera catch adhesive left on the glass?

HORAD shows no residue detection result. Agree a residue limit and a way to check it.

Does the station run with no attention at all?

The waste box needs emptying and HORAD does not describe that job. Ask what operators do and how faults are cleared.

If my panel fits, will my tape peel?

Panel size says nothing about adhesion. Run your own tape with its real process history.
