Selection considerations
Where lamination fits
The laminator bonds the layup into one sealed module. Glass, encapsulation film, cell strings and the rear backsheet or glass arrive from layup; after lamination and cooling, modules are trimmed and move on to framing. In a fully linked module line the laminator is often the slowest station, so its cycle sets the pace for everything around it. It belongs to module assembly, and drawings, utilities and acceptance are covered in more depth in specifying a PV module laminator.
Single-level, stacked or multi-chamber
The main choice is architecture. A single chamber laminates and cures in one press. Moving curing and cooling into later chambers frees the press sooner for the next load. Stacking levels adds capacity on the same floor area but makes service access, transport and building loads harder to plan.
Ask each maker for the hall layout, the transfer and cooling scope, and who handles hot modules at the exit. At acceptance, run the same module stack on every level and chamber, and count loading, cleaning and restarts in the measured output. Weigh rated power against measured energy per accepted module, and plan a lab or compact unit for recipe work if trials would otherwise stop the production press. Read utilities and installation before you size power, cooling water and compressed air, use factory and site acceptance to plan the run, and compare output figures with the method in cycle time versus accepted throughput. Machine logs of temperature, vacuum and alarms only help if they reach your production records and MES in an agreed format, and any new encapsulant or backsheet in the stack still goes through module material qualification.
Plan the equipment scope
For solar module laminators, begin your enquiry with module dimensions, encapsulant recipe and layer/chamber arrangement. Request a configuration-specific quotation and agree on temperature measurement, vacuum conditions, cycle definition and acceptance samples. Each listing shows the published values and the questions to confirm.
The TCAE-DF-55 is an electrically heated bench laminator for small modules and material trials in the lab. It has a 500×500 mm working area, 6.5 kW installed, room temperature to 160°C, PLC touchscreen and selectable modes. Buy it to test encapsulants and recipes on coupons and mini-modules; full-size production needs its own trials on a larger press.
The TCZY-DF1/F3-2222 is Yiheng's small single-chamber laminator, with a 2200×2200 mm working area, 58 kW installed and a 9 t frame. Yiheng sells it for manual and semi-automatic module lines and for small-module production. The press cycle is automatic, but people or nearby stations still lay up, feed and unload, so agree that split before you quote.
The TCZY-DF1/F3 family is a one-level, one-chamber laminator built to sit inside an automatic module line. Yiheng lists three sizes from 3600×2200 to 5600×2400 mm, 65 to 100 kW and 17 to 24 t, with PLC touchscreen and PID control. For this machine the infeed, outfeed and line handshakes matter more than the old yearly output figure, which differs between catalogue and product page.
The TCZY-GF1 is Yiheng's conventional linked laminator: two chambers side by side on one level, with automatic cleaning and PLC and PID temperature control. The sheet lists 4600, 5600 and 5800 mm by 2400 mm sizes at 163 or 188 kW and 31 to 40 t. Yiheng's catalogue and product page give different output and chamber descriptions, so settle those before you compare quotes.
The TCZY-BF1 is a single-level line with three chambers in a row: one laminates, one cures and one cools the module with circulating water. Yiheng aims it at large double-glass modules and custom areas. Its three working sizes run from 4600 to 5800 mm long, all 2400 mm wide, drawing 169 or 192 kW and weighing 40 to 58 t. Choose it when you want cure and cooling off the laminating press.
The TCDY-DJ1 family stacks two laminating levels on one frame, and each level laminates and cures in the same chamber. Upper and lower levels move independently. Yiheng's sheet lists four models with 4600 to 5800 mm by 2400 mm working areas, 179 or 202 kW installed and 35 to 47 t. Quote it when floor space is tight and you want lamination and cure in one press per level.
Yiheng's TCDY-GJ1 family is a two-level automatic laminator with a lamination chamber and a curing chamber on each level and no separate cooling chamber. The levels move independently through two linked stages. Four models span 4600 to 5800 mm working lengths at 2400 mm width, 326–376 kW and 59–74 t. Quote it with your module stack and exit-handling plan.
Yiheng's TCDY-BJ1 family is a two-level automatic laminator with three chambers per level: lamination, curing and water cooling. Each level moves independently through three linked stages. Three models cover 4600, 5600 and 5800 mm by 2400 mm working sizes, at 336–386 kW installed and 80–110 t. Send your module stack and cooling requirements for pricing.
Yiheng's TCSY family is a three-level automatic module laminator in which each level moves on its own, designed with multi-floor workshops in mind. Two models, TCSY-DJ1/J3-5624 and TCSY-DJ1/J5-5624, both press 5600×2400 mm and stand 4700 mm tall, at 287 and 300 kW installed. Send your module stack and building drawings for a quote.
HORAD's multilayer laminator stacks several lamination layers in one frame, and HORAD says each layer runs without affecting the others. It claims 30–40% less floor space than laminators of equal capacity. The listed build is 29000 mm long, draws 1200 kW and weighs 300 T. It takes panels of 1640–2550 by 990–1450 mm.
HORAD's three-chamber laminator bonds the module stack into finished panels, moving each load through three chambers in turn. You choose one, two or three stacked layers, no taller than 4.5 m, and electric, oil or electromagnetic heating. The listed build draws 800 kW, runs 62000 mm long and weighs 240 T, for modules 1640–2550 mm long and 990–1450 mm wide.
The SGCY-A2658D is Shuogu's electric-heated, single-chamber solar panel laminator. It loads, laminates and unloads automatically or under manual control, runs at 30–180 °C and 40–150 Pa, and carries a 110 kW rating with average working power of ≤30 kW. The controls log vacuum, plate temperature and alarms, and the machine includes a cleaning system and manual valves for recovery after a power failure.

Selection guide
A solar module laminator is selected against module dimensions and the encapsulation recipe. Layer count, chamber count and loading arrangements affect the process boundary. Series tables should be resolved into one proposed configuration before installation and capacity are assessed.
Inputs to prepare before shortlisting
Module and recipe
Provide module dimensions, stack construction and the proposed encapsulant. Agree sample preparation and which party owns recipe development and validation.
Machine arrangement
Specify layer and chamber arrangement, effective working area, loading method and heating system. Request a drawing for the exact offered configuration.
Site and monitoring
Request connected loads, utility connections and process-record availability. Identify maintenance access, loading equipment and alarm or recipe-management responsibilities.
Make quotations comparable
Compare full loading-to-unloading cycles, not only heating time. Separate connected electrical power from measured energy use. Ask where temperature and vacuum are measured, and which process conditions apply to each claimed cycle result.
Plan the acceptance test
Agree representative modules and inspection methods for the required laminate quality. Retain process curves and alarm records for the run. Check recipe changeover, loading conditions and restart handling as part of the agreed acceptance scope.
Avoid this comparison mistake
A series maximum temperature or chamber size is not the operating recipe for every module. Work out qualified output from the full cycle, not chamber dimensions alone.
