DIASC / Sanchao
南京三超新材料股份有限公司
Nanjing superhard-tool maker Sanchao sells diamond wire, grinding wheels and coolant for solar silicon under the DIASC brand. Its 2025 report describes smaller PV fine-wire output and a paused equipment unit, so settle current supply early in any enquiry.

Company scope
What the company makes
Sanchao supplies consumables for cutting and grinding crystalline silicon. The parent company is 南京三超新材料股份有限公司, which trades as DIASC and gives its contact address as 77 Zecheng Road, Chunhua Subdistrict, Jiangning, Nanjing. For a solar buyer the useful part of the range is four families: fine electroplated diamond wire for slicing wafers, heavier wire for cropping and squaring ingots, face-grinding wheels for solar silicon blocks, and a cutting coolant made for silicon wafers and polysilicon. They fit saws and grinders you already run. There is no turnkey wafer line in this selection.
Sanchao dates its founding to January 1999 and its Shenzhen ChiNext listing to 21 April 2017, under stock code 300554. Its core business is diamond and cubic boron nitride tooling that cuts, grinds and polishes hard, brittle materials. The wider catalogue also serves sapphire, magnetic materials, ceramics, glass and semiconductor work. Only the solar silicon items appear in this directory. A tool sold for IC wafers needs its own check before it goes onto a solar wafer saw.
The slicing wire comes on two core types. Tungsten-core wire runs from 41 to 47 μm finished diameter on 29 to 35 μm cores. Carbon-steel-core wire runs from 47 to 59 μm finished on 35 to 45 μm cores, held to ±2 μm up to 51 μm and ±3 μm above that. All slicing grades share one grain band, 6–12 μm, and Sanchao lists spools of up to 240 km.
The cropping and squaring wire is much heavier: 290 to 460 μm finished on 220 to 350 μm cores, with coarser grain and a maximum length of 30 km. Write core and finished diameter into your order as two separate values. The 240 km length belongs to the slicing wire only, so keep it out of a cropping-wire order.
The grinding wheels come in resin and metal bonds, with different specifications for rough and finish passes on solar silicon blocks. Sanchao gives no grit, wheel size or speed rating, so the wheel drawing has to arrive with the quotation. The coolant is a water-soluble synthetic fluid with listed dilution, pH, density, surface tension and pack sizes. Sanchao calls it harmless to people and the environment. Before you plan handling or waste disposal, get the current safety data sheet for the grade you will buy.
Production is spread across group companies. Sanchao names Jiangsu Sanchao and Jiangsu Sanhong for diamond wire, Jiangsu Sanjing for semiconductor tools and materials, Jiangsu Sanxin for precision PV and semiconductor equipment, and a Japanese organisation, SCD, for design and development support. Each has its own role and contact. A Nanjing head-office address or a Japanese design office tells you little about where a given spool or wheel is made. Ask which legal entity and which site will produce your lot, and who answers for batch quality.
The 2025 annual report matters for supply planning. On pages 12 and 16 Sanchao describes shrinking its PV fine-wire business and taking orders selectively. Page 23 reports a production stop at Jiangsu Sanhong and a business pause at Jiangsu Sanxin, neither with a restart plan when the report was written. Those statements carry the report's date. Some catalogue grades may still ship and others may not, so ask Sanchao for a current availability statement for the exact grade and diameter. The group's equipment business is left out of this listing as a supply source.
The company introduction also quotes site area, subsidiary headcount, total wire output, standards work and patents. Those group totals say little about one diameter, one grade or one delivery date. No prices, lead times or certificate expiry dates are published, and no outside party has witnessed the performance figures. For your order, a lot certificate and a measured cutting trial count for more.
Sanchao publishes a general company mailbox together with named staff for each product line. A first enquiry can go to the general contact with a request to pass it to the wire, wheel or coolant team.
A useful quote starts with your own data: the incoming silicon, the crop, square or wafer geometry you keep, your saw or grinder with its wire path, wheel mount and fluid loop, and the dimensions, surface and damage you measure. Ask for controlled drawings and grades, batch traceability, mechanical and coating data, fluid safety and compatibility papers, and a statement of which company produces and delivers. Then compare offers on accepted silicon, damage and material loss, counted until each spool or wheel is used up. A diameter on a sheet or an efficiency slogan is a weak basis for an order.

What the 2025 annual report means for supply
PV fine-wire orders
Sanchao reports a smaller PV fine-wire business that takes orders selectively. Ask for the grade, lot, producing company and delivery scope on offer today. [5]
Sanhong and Sanxin
At the reporting date Jiangsu Sanhong had stopped production and Jiangsu Sanxin had paused business. Their products still appear on the website, so ask whether either line ships now. [5]
DIASC wire, wheel and coolant product pages
Which DIASC family handles each silicon step
Slice wafers
Choose core and finished diameter plus grain to suit your wafer size and saw. Judge the wire on usable wafers over its full use. [6]
Crop and square
Pick a row from the heavier wire table to match your crop and square cut map. Check dimensions, faces, damage, cut loss and wire use. [7]
Grind block faces
Specify resin or metal bond, the wheel drawing and the rough or finish result you need. Sanchao lists no standard grit or speed rating. [8]
Run the coolant
Get the safety data sheet, the test basis for each property and a fit check against your water and machines for the grade supplied. [9]

Confirm before ordering
- Which grades are on offer today and which site produces them.
- Whether the 2025 production cuts and pauses still apply; the equipment business is not listed here as a live supplier.
- Full wire mechanical and coating data, wheel grade and rated limits, and the coolant safety data sheet.
Written from Sanchao's company, subsidiary, contact and four product pages plus its 2025 annual report; supply advice follows that report's PV fine-wire cutback.

Are all of Sanchao's semiconductor tools suitable for PV work?
Only the solar silicon families are listed here. IC-wafer tools and tools for other materials need their own check before solar use. [1][3]
Can I order any catalogue grade today?
The 2025 report describes reduced and paused activity. Ask for current availability by grade and by producing company. [5]
Is core diameter the same as finished wire diameter?
No. The slicing table pairs them, for example a 29 μm tungsten core under 41 μm finished wire. [6]
How should the coolant be handled and disposed of?
Ask for the current safety data sheet and hazard class for your grade and check it against your site wastewater rules. The harmless wording on the product page is sales copy. [9]
