HORAD junction-box soldering station

Suzhou HORAD New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. ↗

Once the box is seated, the bus ribbon has to be joined to its terminal. HORAD's station stops and arranges incoming modules, locates the joint with a camera, and heats it with a high-frequency unit whose heat runs through a ceramic rod into the ribbon and the tin block until both melt.

HORAD's page explains the heating principle and gives panel range, utilities, footprint and weight. Frequency, tip shape, the temperature, time and force window, compatible alloys and measured joint results are absent, so request them with the quotation.

General illustration of module assembly equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

A good match if you want camera-guided box soldering inline. Fix your terminal and ribbon materials, get HORAD's actual heating and contact process in writing, and qualify joints and module condition on your own parts before production sign-off.

How heat reaches the joint

HORAD's function list says incoming modules are stopped and arranged, located by a camera and joined by electromagnetic hot-melt welding. Its technical note adds that a high-frequency machine produces heat that travels through a ceramic rod to the soldering tape and the tin block in the junction box, melting both. With the joint made, the box is then filled with two-part compound on HORAD's AB potting station.

The page gives no frequency, heat setting, contact force or measured joint temperature. It also calls the process soldering in the title and welding in the function text, so write the real thermal and contact method for your terminal and ribbon into the order. The 22 kW figure is the machine's electrical load and says nothing about joint temperature or energy per joint.

Define the joint first

  • Terminal, ribbon and tin

Give the exact alloys and coatings, cross-sections, the terminal drawing and the tin block condition. Ask which consumables and preparation steps HORAD supports.

  • Heat and contact

Ask for the heating and control method, tip geometry, temperature, time and force limits, and how sensing is calibrated. Agree how much heat the box and the module may see.

  • Joint quality and safety

Set the electrical and mechanical joint results, the visual defects you reject and the damage allowed to nearby material. Ask for extraction, hot-tool guarding and maintenance needs for this process.

Qualifying joints on your parts

  1. Approve the package

Freeze part and material drawings, preparation, tip and tooling, and the controlled process window.

  2. Test the joints

Join representative parts, log the conditions and test electrical and mechanical performance on agreed samples by agreed methods.

  3. Look around the joint

Check terminal and box deformation, module damage and heat marks against your criteria. The camera locates the joint; judging its quality needs a separate check.

  4. Tips and faults

Agree how tips are inspected and replaced and how first pieces are checked. Then feed missing or misaligned parts and interrupt heating to see how rejects are handled before sustained running is accepted.

Junction-box soldering questions

Does 22 kW tell me the solder temperature?

No. It is machine power. The thermal process needs its own settings and measurements.

Does the camera inspect the finished joint?

HORAD describes it as a positioning camera. Plan a separate electrical and mechanical check of the joint.

Are compatible alloys and tip life listed?

Neither appears on the page. Ask HORAD to confirm the material set, tooling and maintenance criteria in writing.
