Selection considerations
Where the junction box fits
The junction box carries module output to the field cables and holds the bypass diodes that protect cells when part of the module is shaded. In module assembly it goes on after lamination: HORAD's adhesive dispenser lays the bead, the mounting station seats the box, the soldering station joins ribbon to terminal and the AB potting station fills it. The box you choose sets the work those stations must do, and the leads come from ribbon and busbar materials prepared at layup.
Comparing the listed boxes
All six use split or multi-housing designs, yet they differ in rating and joining method. Renhe offers the potting-sealed GF50xy family with three diodes. Jiaming Tianheyuan offers the PV-JM807, a lower-voltage box whose current row depends on the diode. Zhonghuan Sunter builds the PV-ZH011C-5 as three boxes with four current versions. CHINT Xinhui gives the PV-HBE4x series a laser zone and a reserve solder zone on each terminal. Yitong Tech offers the three-diode PV-Y30m split box, and Minghe adds electronics in the SJB2y smart box, whose shutdown function depends on the transmitter and system it pairs with. Choose by your module's real operating current and system voltage, then match the joining method to the soldering or laser equipment on your line.
Request the controlled drawing at a fixed revision and the approval annex that names your exact diode, cable and connector set. On the line, test joint strength, potting coverage and box adhesion after cure, and send samples through module electrical safety testing and environmental test equipment runs. Link each box lot to the module serial, as traceability and MES interfaces describes, so a field return leads back to its diode batch.
Plan the equipment scope
Identify the production step, cell or module format and output unit before comparing equipment. Use the listed source, scope and specifications to prepare a configuration-specific enquiry. Missing values are left unspecified and do not count as exact filter matches.
The Yitong PV-Y30m is a split junction box for solar modules: three separate housings, three diodes, 1500 V DC and a 20 A or 25 A rating, with IP65/IP68 and 4 mm² cable listed. The linked drawing calls it PV-YT30m, so ask Yitong to confirm the ordering code, then fix the diode option, connector pair and potting process for your module.
SJB2y is Minghe's three-piece smart junction box for PV modules. A long housing holds the shutdown electronics, flanked by two shorter boxes. The sheet lists 8–60V DC input, 25A, 1500V DC system voltage, IP65/IP68 and 4mm² wire. Before you quote rapid shutdown, ask Minghe which transmitter, firmware and system pairing it has tested with this box.
PV-HBE4x laser-weld is a three-box module junction box from CHINT Xinhui. Every copper terminal offers a laser zone for the ribbon and a reserved solder zone for rework. The instruction defines four subtypes at 1000V or 1500V and 25A or 30A, all with 4mm² cable. The webpage adds a 35A option, so ask for the controlled specification of the rating you want quoted.
PV-ZH011C-5 is a split junction box with left, centre and right positions. The outer boxes carry the outgoing cables and connectors; the centre box is shorter and has its own terminal layout. It is rated 1500 V DC in 18A, 22A, 25A or 30A versions. Order all three positions together, matched to your ribbon layout and wiring.
PV-JM807 is a junction box from Jiaming's PV catalogue, rated 1000 V DC with a TÜV label, contact resistance of 0.5mΩ or less and IP65 when mated. Its family table shows 6A, and Jiaming notes that a different diode changes the maximum working current. Before quoting, ask which diode the 6A figure assumes and at what temperature it applies.
GF50xy is Renhe's potting-sealed junction box for crystalline-silicon modules, rated 1500 V DC in both its TÜV and UL columns. It uses three diodes, with 13–16 A TÜV rows or a 20 A UL row, takes soldered ribbon up to 8 mm and measures 94×64.1×19.5 mm. Order by full suffix with the circuit drawing, cable, connectors and certificate annex for that variant.
