HORAD dual-printer module labeling station

Suzhou HORAD New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. ↗

Two printers sit on this HORAD station. One prints the frame barcode, the other the nameplate barcode for the backplate, and servo axes correct position before each label goes on.

HORAD lists the two label outputs, the utilization figure, panel sizes, utilities and machine size. Printer models, label stock, barcode formats, placement tolerance, data link and read checks are yours to specify. Labeling comes near the end of module assembly, ahead of sorting and packing.

General illustration of module assembly equipment, not a photograph of this model. Ask the manufacturer for current photographs and layout drawings of the configuration offered.

START WITH YOUR PRODUCTION TASK

Pick it when frame and nameplate labels should be applied in one pass. Settle the two layouts and the serial link between them, then trial reprints and printer faults on your own modules before shipment. If serials are already set at HORAD's glass barcode-labeling station, map those numbers onto both labels here.

Frame barcode and nameplate in one pass

HORAD builds the station around two printers: one for the edge-frame barcode and one for the backplate nameplate barcode. Servo motion corrects label position, the recipe switches between board types, and modules can enter while the previous one leaves. HORAD rates utilization at 99.5% or better.

The page gives no printer resolution, barcode symbology, data mapping, scan-back check or reprint routine. The utilization figure measures machine uptime, and HORAD does not say over what period or which stops count. Print quality and correct serials need their own targets. Reading labels back is the job of HORAD's separate label-verification station.

Artwork, stock and serial data to send

  • Two label layouts

Send released frame and nameplate artwork with sizes, required fields and how far print and position may drift.

  • Label stock and printers

Name the face stock, adhesive, surface prep and any weathering need. Ask which printer models and consumables HORAD will fit.

  • Where the serial comes from

Say which system issues the module serial, how fields map onto each label and how both labels tie back to the module and its test data. Set rules for duplicates and reprints.

  • Reading labels back

Decide whether a scanner sits on this station or the separate verification station is added, and what happens to a module with a missing, wrong or unreadable label.

Trials for print, placement and serials

  1. Load the artwork and data link

Freeze both layouts, the label stock and the serial interface, and run reference modules with known numbers.

  2. Check the applied labels

Measure position and print quality on each format and surface. Test adhesion and make sure labels clear frame holes and edges.

  3. Feed bad data and empty printers

Send a missing serial, a wrong one, a repeated command, run out of ribbon and cut a job short. Confirm reprints and voids never leave two different serials on one module.

  4. Change format and restart

Switch module and label formats, restart the station and repeat the checks. Store the approved artwork, mapping and label stock.

Questions about the labeler

Is 99.5% a barcode read rate?

No. HORAD gives it as utilization, a measure of machine running time.

Will the frame and nameplate always carry the same serial?

Only if the data link is set up that way. Write the mapping into the order and test it with wrong and duplicate serials.

Is label verification part of this station?

HORAD sells verification as a separate station. Ask whether your offer includes it and how the two connect.
